A former teammate of Russell Wilson’s is forecasting a mutiny in the Broncos locker room.

Michael Robinson, a fullback who played alongside Wilson on the Seahawks for two seasons — including during their run to a Super Bowl championship in 2014 — of his eight-year NFL career, spoke on NFL Network’s “Total Access” on Tuesday about the discombobulated Broncos offense.

“This is Football 101,” Robinson said. “My 13-year-old son understands how to redirect an offensive line. And Russell understands how to do that, too. This is what hits home with me. When you call him a robot. How can you stand up there, you know the offense looks like this, you know all these questions around here about you and the offense, and you just say, ‘We need to execute better, let’s ride.’”

The Broncos traded a big package in the offseason that included two first-round picks to the Seahawks for Wilson, and immediately gave him a five-year, $245 million contract extension with $165 million guaranteed. Robinson predicted that the dynamics of Wilson’s high pay and robotic communication would lead to a teammate revolt.

“If you’re a teammate in that locker room, you’re like, be human! Please! Call somebody out! Be upset about something! Don’t just act like this is just business as usual!” he said. “Because at the end of the day, I think it’s on the horizon for this team — I hope it’s not — but I think it’s on the horizon: Mutiny is afoot. The guys in that locker room are gonna turn around and say, ‘Russell got his money. New head coach, he got his money, he’s all good. But what about us? What about the guys in the locker room?’”

We have seen former teammates of Wilson bristle at him before, but the typical case in those circumstances was that the barbs came from players on the defensive side of the ball, such as Richard Sherman. The fact that this time the warning is coming from someone who played in Wilson’s offense could be ominous for Broncos Country.
