Ben Roethlisberger


Ben Roethlisberger was born on March 2nd, 1982 in Lima, Ohio. He is a quarterback in the NFL.

Roethlisberger attended Findlay High School where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He was a team captain in all three sports and was an all-league and all-district performer in baseball and basketball. Roethlisberger set state records by throwing for 4,041 yards with 54 touchdowns during his senior campaign and also ran for seven touchdowns. He was named league, district and Toledo Blade Player of the Year and helped his team compile a 23-9 record. He participated in Ohio’s North-South Game and the Ohio-Pennsylvania Big 33 All-Star game before starting his collegiate career.

Was a three-year starter at Miami of Ohio from 2001 to 2003. Roethlisberger set virtually every school passing record in just 38 games with 854 completed passes for 10,829 yards with 84 touchdowns. He set another Red Hawks’ career record with 11,075 yards of total offense and became only the third player in Mid-American Conference history to throw for over 3,000 yards in three seasons and became the 10th quarterback in conference annals to throw for over 10,000 yards in his career.

Ben Roethlisberger was selected in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 11th overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. He was named to the PFWA Rookie team in 2004 and won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Roethlisberger won 74 of his first 100 home games starts, which ties as the fourth-most in NFL history. He holds the Steelers single-game records for most passing yards, completions, attempts, completion percentage and touchdown passes. In 15 seasons, has led the Steelers to nine postseason berths, seven AFC North Championships, four AFC Championships and two Super Bowl victories in three championship game appearances. He is the youngest quarterback to ever win a Super Bowl at age 23. Ben has spent his whole career in Pittsburgh, and in 216 games he has completed 4,616 passes for 56,194 yards and 363 touchdown passes. Roethlisberger is a two-time Super Bowl Champion, six-time Pro Bowler, and two time NFL passing leader. In 2018, Ben completed 67 percent of his passes on 675 attempts for more than 5,100 yards and 34 passing touchdowns.

In 2021, Ben signed a one-year extension with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
