The music video for Justin Bieber’s new single Ghost just dropped on YouTube, and it has a very heartwarming storyline.
In the video, Justin plays a grandson who is reconnecting with his grandmother following the death of his grandfather.
The pair go on a walk through Ventura Beach and go out for a night of cocktails and dancing before Justin helps her update her dating profiles.

Who are Justin Bieber’s grandparents?
On his father’s side, Justin Bieber’s grandparents are George and Kathy Bieber, who are the step-mother and father of Justin’s dad Jeremy Bieber.
His mother Pattie’s parents are Michael and Diane Mallette. However, Pattie’s father Michael left the family when she was just 2-years-old and later died from suicide.
Diane then married Bruce Dale, Pattie’s step-father, who Justin considers as his grandfather.
Jeremy Bieber died earlier this year
Justin’s grandfather George Bieber died in February 2021.
For most of his life, Justin wasn’t very close to his paternal grandfather George.
In 2013, when Justin Bieber was rising to fame, George reportedly lived in a cabin in Canada and couldn’t work due to illness.
He told NY Daily News: “It’s like we now live on different planets. He never calls us, and now I sometimes think he doesn’t care. It does make me sad, as right now our life is pretty desperate.”
“He was such a big part of our life, and now nothing. It’s like he is a stranger and now we barely know him. Thank goodness we have 10 other grandchildren is all I can say,” he continued.

Who is the ‘Ghost’ video about?
Whilst Justin hasn’t confirmed it, the Ghost video is believed to be about George and Kathy Bieber.
George died earlier this year, which fits the timeline of the music video, as Justin is seen reconnecting with his grandmother after his grandfather’s death.
In 2020, Kathy attended the red carpet premiere of Justin’s docu-series Justin Bieber: Seasons, so it appears as though he was trying to reconncect with her in recent years.
