Reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers sends fans into a frenzy as he strides into Packers’ training camp dressed as Nicolas Cage’s character in Con Air

Aaron Rodgers sent social media into meltdown on Tuesday when he turned up for the first day of Packers’ training camp channeling his inner Nicolas Cage.

Green Bay’s star quarterback has a history of dressing up as film characters – he once grew his hair out to become John Wick at Halloween – and it appears his latest stunt surrounds Con Air.

The 38-year-old arrived back at Lambeau Field for the first time ahead of the 2022 season, and immediately turned heads wearing a white vest and blue jeans.

If there was any doubt as to what his reason for the outfit was, Rodgers quickly took to social media and posted two images – one of him arriving on Tuesday, alongside a near-identical photo of Cage’s Cameron Poe in Con Air.

He captioned the post: ‘Put… the… bunny… back in the box. #greatestactorofalltime,’ before also hashtagging #dayone and #year18, to signify his return for the new season.

Fans went wild for the bold look, with one noting: ‘Aaron Rodgers looks ready to enter his Brett Favre Wrangler era.’

Another claimed it was ‘one of the GREATEST arrivals in the history of the NFL’, while one user joked: ‘Aaron Rodgers reemerges every summer with a whole new personality he got from whatever movie he last watched.’

That theory is backed up by Rodgers’ 2016 look, when he turned up to a Packers press conference wearing The Dude’s jumper from The Big Lebowski.

Last year, upon arrival for the 2021 Packers training camp, he wore a Brian Baumgartner ‘The Office’ t-shirt too.

Rodgers is the reigning NFL MVP after another incredible season with the Packers in 2021, in which they went 13-4 in the regular season to top the NFC North.

That was followed by a disappointing divisional playoff defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers, leaving them ruing another season in which they were close to a Super Bowl appearance but fell agonizingly short once again.

Rodgers will be hoping some more top performances can take them one step further this season, but they will have to do it without star wide receiver Davante Adams, who has headed to Vegas with the Raiders.

The Packers hold their first training session on Wednesday, and their first preseason game is against the 49ers on August 12.
