Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown wed on the 18th July 1992.

The Rock Wit’cha singer and I Have Nothing musician – who sadly died in in 2012- met while attending the Soul Train Awards In 1989.

After the encounter, Whitney invited Bobby to her 26th birthday party and after that they became a couple.

Three years later they married at Houston’s New Jersey mansion but their toxic union was filled with drug abuse and boozy binges – and it seems that their marriage – that ended 14-years later – was doomed from the day they said their vows.

Bobby made claims in his 2017 book named Every Little Step that he saw Whitney taking cocaine on their big day.

Bobby told in the memoir that he looked in on the pop singer before the ceremony and was “shocked” to witness her “hunched over a bureau snorting a line of coke”.

He also claims that his ex-wife offered him some, but he declined to take part.

Bobby has been open about taking drugs himself throughout his life and relationship with Whitney but has always been adamant that he had nothing to do with Whitney’s addiction issues.

“I smoked weed, I drank the beer, but no, I wasn’t the one that got Whitney on drugs at all. It’s just unexplainable how one could, you know, [claim that I] got her addicted to drugs,” he penned in his book.

According to Brown’s 2008 autobiography Bobby Brown: The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing But…, he shared that he believed his and Houston’s marriage was ill-fated from the get-go.

He blamed the end of their romance on their ‘different agendas’ – despite coming clean about his own infidelities.

An excerpt from the book reads: “The I think we got married for all the wrong reasons. Now I realize Whitney had a different agenda than I did.

“I believe her agenda was to clean up her image, while mine was to be loved and have children.

The media was accusing her of having a bisexual relationship with her assistant. In Whitney’s situation, the only solution was to get married and have kids. That would kill all speculation, whether it was true or not.”

Brown also admitted to his own infidelities, as he wrote: “Women are always throwing themselves at you,” he writes. “I’m only human, so I would make the mistake and bite the hook sometimes. I let the testosterone take over.”

Whitney’s death sent shockwaves around the world in 2012.

The much-loved superstar was tragically found unconscious and submerged in the bathtub in her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Paramedics were called and performed CPR, but she was pronounced dead. She was just 48.

A coroner later ruled that Whitney died by drowning and the affected of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use.
