Aaron Rodgers throws an ugly family drama interception, will he ever score a reconciliation?

Aaron Rodgers, the NFL quarterback, has been making headlines since the announcement of his trade from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets in April 2023. Among the many aspects of Rodgers that have fascinated people over the years is his complicated relationship with his family.

Although there has been bitterness between Rodgers and his family in the past, the quarterback spoke about the possibility of reconciliation during an interview on the “Aubrey Marcus Podcast” in 2022.

He said: “I do believe in healing and I believe in the possibility of reconciliation at some point. But, it’s a different journey for all of us, and to judge on the outside about what should be or what it should look like, or who’s wrong or who’s right, is just a game I’ve never wanted to play and still don’t want to play.”

Rodgers has two brothers, Luke and Jordan, and the public first became aware of a rift in the family when Jordan appeared on “The Bachelorette” in 2016. During the show, he told JoJo Fletcher not to expect Aaron to be present during their meeting at the Rodgers family home. “My middle brother won’t be there,” Jordan said. “Like I said, I have a great relationship with my brother Luke. Me and Aaron really don’t have much of a relationship.”

He talked about his family issues last year

While there were reports in 2022 that Aaron and Jordan had begun talking again, Us Weekly reported in May of that year that there was still a family rift and that Aaron did not attend Jordan’s wedding to JoJo Fletcher. In 2016, Us Weekly reported that Rodgers’ then-girlfriend, actress Olivia Munn, was at the center of the rift. Munn denied having been the cause of the family estrangement, saying that it largely pre-dated their relationship.

The situation with Rodgers’ family reportedly runs so deep that he returned Christmas presents sent by his parents in 2016, according to Bleacher Report. His father, Ed Rodgers, told The New York Times that Rodgers had not spoken to his family since 2014. However, in 2021, Ed publicly supported his son during the vaccine saga, when Aaron initially claimed to have been “immunized” against COVID-19 but later said that he was unvaccinated.

Despite the public interest in Rodgers’ family situation, the quarterback has been determined to keep it private. A source close to Rodgers told People in 2017: “Aaron has never wanted to air this out in a public forum. He’s going through great precautions not to make this worse… He will deal with his family issues privately.”
